God’s mercy and love

The Prophet Jeremiah in Chapter 28 (verses 5-9) declines to agree with a false prophet Hananiah who prophesied the return of the exiles from Babylon to Israel. Psalm 119 (verses 153-160) expresses God’s mercy and love to those who believe in His word and rejects those who do not honor His commands. God’s Law, in Romans 7 (verses 1-13), reveal our sinfulness but because of Christ’s death and resurrection, all sinfulness is removed through faith in Him. Following Jesus will bring hardship and indifference as read in Matthew 10 (verses 34-42) but clinging to His Word and Gospel will bring comfort and salvation.
