Scripture’s prophet Amos, in chapter 7 vs 7-15, tells of his prophesy concerning Israel’s rebellion against God’s Word and the resultant judgment that will come upon them. However, in Psalm 85 we read of God’s mercy and love shown to us when we repent of our sinfulness. Ephesians 1 vs 3-14 gives us hope and trust in God’s promises through Jesus’ death and resurrection to save us and in Mark 6 vs 14-29 the cruel and tragic death of John the Baptist is told, foretelling of our Savior’s similar but even more vastly significant sacrifice to save the world and bring it salvation.
