June 2021 Update:
Angel Tree collection of health kit items will continue through the end of July. At the beginning of August, we will assemble the health kit bags with the items received. We will need many volunteers to help with this to make the event run smoothly.
All items are still needed at this time to reach our goal of 500 bags.
Age 1-11 boys items are: toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, body wash and shampoo.
Age 1-11 girls items are: toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs or hair brush, body wash, shampoo, elastic hair ties/barrettes
Dollar Tree has a good selection of these items.
Age 12-18 boys items are: toothbrushes, toothpaste, hair brushes, body wash (3in1, 2in1), shampoo, deodorant, body lotion, cardboard nail files. This age group likes Axe brand body wash and deodorant.
Age 12-18 girls items are: toothbrushes, toothpaste, hair brushes, body wash, shampoo/conditioner (2in1), deodorant, body lotion, cardboard nail files, nylon body scrubbers, elastic hair ties and barrettes.
Dollar tree, Walmart, Big Lots, etc. have good selections of these items.
Cash donations can be given to Mary Beck or Sara Bradshaw.

Plans are being made to provide toiletry bags to the children in the Cumberland County Foster Care Program at Christmas. In 2020 there were 612 children on the House of Hope Angel Tree. The need is great in Cumberland County and House of Hope does an amazing job providing services to these children and their foster parents throughout the year.
Toiletry Bags

The toiletry bags for boys and girls age 1-11 will include body wash, shampoo, comb/brush, body lotion, hairbands, washcloth, toothbrush, toothpaste, chap stick, Kleenex.
The toiletry bags for boys and girls 12-18 will include body wash/soap, shampoo/conditioner, body lotion, toothbrush, toothpaste, comb/brush, washcloth, Kleenex, hand sanitizer, hairbands, nail file, chap stick, deodorant.
Two items will be featured in the SOTH newsletter each month, but all needed items can be donated at any time. There is currently a “community outreach” collection box by the credenza near the mailboxes.
The organizing committee is Mary Beck, leader, Linda Long and Sara Bradshaw. We are looking for more committee members to help with this project. You can contact any of us to join the committee. Our goal is to provide a toiletry bag to all of the children on the House of Hope Angel Tree at Christmas this year. As they say, “it takes a village”, and Shepherd of the Hills is an awesome village of loving and caring members. Together we can reach this goal!
