In Isaiah 42: 14-21, the Lord calls His people to repent of their evil ways through the image of a woman in labor. David, from the depths of a cave, cries out to Almighty God, the psalmist’s refuge (Psalm 142), to be protected from the wrath of King Saul. Paul writes to the Ephesians (5:8-14), from Rome where he is under house arrest, to walk in the light of the Lord. In John 9: 1-41, Jesus heals a blind beggar who experiences the light of faith.
