The message delivered to Nineveh in Jonah 3 (verses 1-5,10) of God’s intention to destroy that sinful city is heard by its citizens and they repent of their evil ways. David’s Psalm 62 declares that God is our refuge and strength when we seek His face and call upon His name. In 1 Corinthians (verses 20-35) we read of Paul’s concern over our distraction by worldly responsibilities and possessions but rather concentrate on Jesus and His teachings. Jesus calls fishermen as His first disciples in Mark 1 (verses 14-20) telling them “they will be fishers of men”.
