The Prophet Micah in Chapter 5 (verses 2-5) foretells of a mighty ruler, Jesus, who will remove our sin and the power of the devil. Psalm 80 (verses 1-7) is a cry to the Lord for mercy and protection from Israel’s enemies. Hebrews 10 (verses 5-10) reveals that Jesus is the only and complete sacrifice, replacing the daily sacrifices of the old Covenant that God no longer demands. Mary, in Luke 1 (verses 46-56), sings the Magnificat, praising God for what is to take place.
