The Prophet Joel in Chapter 2 (verses 12-19) tells the people of Israel to gather and seek the Lord in His Temple asking Him for mercy and forgiveness. David’s Psalm 51 (verses 1-13) also asks for God’s mercy and forgiveness and a turn away from sin and all evil. In 2 Corinthians 5 (verses 6-10), we are told to walk in faith not by sight and await the final judgment. Jesus tells us in Matthew 6 (verses 1-6) that our good works shall be done in secret so that only God receives the glory.
