If you are new to the church, or maybe you’ve been here for a while and God has blessed you with any kind of maintenance skills, our Property Guys meet every Tuesday and address maintenance around the church grounds. AND you don’t even have to be a guy! If God leads you in this direction, please heed His call!! Talk to John Wedlund for more information.
Here’s a little insight to what the Property Guys and Gals do at Shepherd of the Hills. John Wedlund, chairman —
Karan and I came home from a trip to Arkansas, then Colorado, Friday evening, 20 October. We then got to see the great work Don Guckenberger and his crew of volunteers did in Shepherds Little Flock playground. The new artificial grass they installed looks great. Nice job!
Our “property crew” and some volunteers have been trying to finish up the repainting of our 2 sheds located behind the Fellowship hall. Nature always dictates what days we can paint. We are close to finishing the job.
We purchased 2 new water heaters. A contactor installed one above the kitchen in the Fellowship hall. The other will be installed upstairs in the church building.
Bill Hinterman did a masterful job installing 2 new lights on the ceiling of the new canopy. The lights will provide plenty of adequate lighting during the evening hours. Bill is currently working with people from Action Heating and Cooling Company to replace a very old HVAC machine that services the church building.
Soon you might be seeing workers doing some repair work on the soffits on the church building. The contractor will be using a “high lift” machine to reach the edges of the roof.
Denny Barber, Paul Krueger, and Jim Hardy completed repairs to the concrete on the outdoor staircase to the church building.
I’m glad we decided to keep 2 utility “hook ups” for RVs. The sites have been used a few times by appreciative SOTH members and guests. It turns out it can be a good “outreach” tool.
Our crew meets every week to do maintenance and repair work as needed. Some things we do on a regular basis are: hauling recycle stuff, mowing lawns in the playground area, updating the information sign on the front lawn, maintaining HVAC filters on the buildings, maintain vacuum cleaners, cleaning up debris as needed.
Our faith in Jesus Christ is what keeps us going. “And such faith, renewal, and forgiveness of sins, is followed by good works”. Smalclad Articles Part 111, X111, 1573
