Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church is pleased to announce that Reverend Andrew Abraham was officially installed as Pastor on Saturday, August 13th. A friend and colleague, Pastor Keith Enko, delivered the celebration message, stating that Pastor Andrew has a “great love for the Lord and others. He has a compassionate, caring attitude.”
The Abraham family has Tennessee “roots.” Prior to his position in Tonawanda NY, Pastor Abraham served in several Tennessee churches- Cookeville, Franklin, Antioch and Murfreesboro. He also has family in the Nashville area. Tennessee Mid-South District President, Reverend Dr. Roger Paavola, Circuit Visitor/Vacancy Pastor Gerald Meyer, as well as visiting pastors from the Nashville North and South Circuits blessed Pastor Andrew’s ministry during the service. Katie Rudy of Heavenly Host Lutheran Church Cookeville was guest organist.
After the installation ceremony, the congregation welcomed their new pastor, his wife of 11 years, Monique, children, Andrew, Gabriel and Atticus to a fellowship luncheon. All guests attending the service enjoyed sharing time with them. Pastor Andrew expressed how happy and excited that he and his family feel to be back in Tennessee!
Pastor Andrew (as he prefers to be called) studied theology at Loyola University in New Orleans and earned a Masters of Divinity at Notre Dame Seminary. He is very community-minded and has been involved with the Diaconate Program in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod District Office.
