The consequences of humankind’s sin are described in Genesis 3:1-21. In Psalm 32:1-7, David reveals a repentant heart and asserts God is a “hiding place” for him. Paul writes to the Romans (5:12-19), about the gift of justification to the contrite believer. In Matthew’s Gospel, (4:1-11), the temptation of Jesus is described through the Savior’s resistance. Through all four biblical references, the reader sees the wreckage of sin and the power of repentance and forgiveness given by the Lord who knew no sin!
