The voice of the Lord (Isaiah 51: 1-6) reminds us of the world’s fragile condition; clinging to God’s Word brings justice and salvation. David’s Psalm 138 praises God for His faithfulness and comfort; in times of trouble He comes to rescue and save us. The various talents that God has given to each of us should be used to help and aid our neighbor (Romans 11-12) and not jealously kept to ourselves. The bold confession of Peter in Matthew (16: 13-20) that Christ is the Son of God is affirmed by Jesus in saying that on this rock He shall build His church.
